Ethos, Vision and Values

Caring, sharing, and always learning.

‘Our love should not be just words and talk. It must be true love which shows itself in action.’
1 John 3:18

Love is the thread that is woven through all of our aims and values

Caring

  • Friendship - supporting and respecting each other to learn and grow. Valuing themselves and others with humility, compassion and forgiveness.

Sharing

  • Service - providing opportunities to develop children’s spirituality and morality by promoting Christian and British Values within our school family and wider community.

Learning

  • Wisdom and perseverance – enabling enquiring minds for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences throughout life, by learning, reflecting and persevering in a stimulating and creative environment.

Christian Ethos

‘Our love should not be just words and talk. It must be true love which shows itself in action.’
1 John 3:18

Love is the thread that is woven through all of our aims and values.

Throughout our school, you will find many examples of our learning about Christian Values.

British Values

British values are embedded into our wider curriculum at Walton & Lees Hill CE Primary School. These are identified as democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith.  We actively promote British Values, often through our core Christian Values.  We develop skills which enable us to be lifelong learners and embed our learning.

This academic year, our children have taken part in the following activities and experiences, which we believe encapsulate these values:

  • Visiting The Theatre By the Lake to see a performance of 'A Little Princess'.
  • £169.45 raised for Comic relief
  • Working together to produce a public performance of 'Christmas around the World'.
  • Participation in sports events at our local secondary school, William Howard
  • Harvest festival celebration in school attended by many members of our local community
  • Participation in William Howard Football Tournament.
  • RE Week learning and celebrations to deepen our understanding of prayer
  • Weekly celebration assemblies
  • Visitors to assemblies, including local church representatives
  • Hosting a number of community lunches - welcoming members of the local community to our school
  • Creation of a new school council
